Our Programme

The Irish Year Programme is designed for students who wish to take a decisive step forward in their English learning through an authentic linguistic and academic immersion.

Beyond improving their language skills, students develop independence, confidence, and personal skills that will stay with them for life.

To make the most of this experience, it is important for students to be responsible, mature, and aware of what it means to spend an extended period away from home.

Each student follows a tailored plan adapted to their academic and language needs, with clearly defined short- and long-term objectives.

Why Ireland?

Ireland is one of Europe’s most highly regarded educational destinations due to the quality of its education system, the safety of its communities, and the warm welcome it offers to international students.

In addition to providing an authentic English-language immersion, Ireland offers a significant academic advantage for Spanish families.

As part of the European Union, studies completed in Ireland are automatically recognised within the Spanish education system.

This means that, unlike what currently happens in the United Kingdom following Brexit, there is no need to go through complex validation or recognition processes for studies, which provides greater security and peace of mind for families.

Culture and leisure

At Ireland & Families, we understand that learning English does not only take place in the classroom or at home. True immersion happens when students actively participate in everyday life, take part in sport, discover new places, and interact with people from different cultures.

For this reason, we offer a comprehensive programme of cultural, sports and recreational activities that complements the academic experience and supports our students’ personal development.

R

Saturdays

Every Saturday, our students attend English classes designed to improve their language level and prepare for Cambridge official exams.

They then take part in cultural, sports activities and organised excursions until 5:00 pm, continuing their language learning in real-life situations.

R

Mid-Term

During school holiday periods, we organise recreational and sports activities, cultural excursions, and academic revision sessions to maintain learning progress and support students’ integration.

R

Sport and wellbeing

We maintain agreements with local sports clubs for football, rugby, tennis, padel, and other disciplines, so our students can continue practising their favourite sports or discover new activities.

In addition, our company manages several sports facilities in Dublin. Near their accommodation in Bushy Park Terenure, students can take part in weekly sports activities.

Personalised support

One of the key pillars of our programme is the ongoing support provided to each student.

All students have a personal tutor available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This tutor lives within 15 minutes of the student’s home, allowing for a quick and close response to any academic, personal or family needs.

The support includes regular one-to-one meetings, direct coordination with school teachers, and regular reports for families.

In addition, we provide guidance and motivation sessions to help students stay organised, set goals, develop independence, and make the most of their experience in Ireland.

All of this is supported by clear and constant communication with families via phone calls, WhatsApp, and video calls.

Host-families

Living with an Irish host family is one of the most important pillars of the programme and one of the main reasons our students achieve true language immersion.

Our students do not stay in residences or shared accommodation, but are fully integrated as a member of a carefully selected Irish family, monitored and committed to their wellbeing.
To ensure an authentic experience and maximise the use of English at home, we only place one student per host family.

This approach promotes faster integration, greater participation in family life, and natural language learning from day one.
